Hey guys! So after a month of getting all of my equipment and supplies I finally completed my first rod. Since this was my first build, I decided to order a kit to make it easy on me. I went with a MHX 7ft fast action blank. I learned alot from my first build and I realized that ordering a cheaply made hand wrap...

Hey Guys! After reading some books and watching some videos i was wondering if all guides have to be sanded or grinded before putting them on the blank? I know doing this helps with the wrapping process but i was wondering if all guides needs to be done like that. Thanks, Jason

What is the difference in using micro guides vs standard size guides. After reading some of the other posts on the forum, it seem that micro guides affects casting; is this right? Thanks, Jason

Hi Everyone, I'm in the process of gathering parts to make myself a nice, vintage style trolling rod. Mesquite wood handles, chrome reel seat, chromed boat guides, etc. But one of the only things I can't find is the old style rubber butt cap or a chrome type gimbal. Does anyone have any vintage or copies...

Horses? Or ride them? I like all animals, but I have to admit horses scare me a bit. I am 6'2", 230 lbs, and horses dwarf me. But they are so cool looking. I was up doing some fly fishing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and we drove by a pack station/general store. We stopped in for some refreshing...

Randy Search built a rod for me and I received it yesterday. He did a dragon scale wrap under the decal with my name. The blank is a beautiful green. The reel seat is also custom painted and the guides match perfectly. I will pst some pics but you really need to see this rod in person, it is very elegant. Pat
