thats an engineer for ya !

i can tell this as i know this guy does not frequent fishing boards, hahah

I have known this guy for 17 or 18 years, very intelligent young man put himself through school then engineering school .
After that he was hired into the company i worked for and was assigned into my area as a tech, worked all over the world and i found out that he never really had a father and so i started noticing that when ever he had a problem or just wanted to talk he would fine me, this went on for many years.

even when the company started going down and i was laid off (19 years, figures dont it), he would take me to lunch or just call and check on me.

well now it's his turn and i got the call and he was lost. He knows i fish and it seems that he got a rod and reel for Christmas and had said he hadent been fishing since he was a little kid and would i take him, I call him a kid but he is really about 52 or so, so i say SURE KID, i'll take ya just go get your fishing license .

So i get this phone call last night , he had been drinking , well trashed it a better word for it, and this voice says hay ol man somethin is wrong wid this rod !
Ok what's it doing wrong ?, "well i strung it up and tried castin it and it only goes a few feet !"

so this goes on for 10 minuets or so checking this and that and the only thing we didnt do was tear down the reel over the phone.

now i am getting tired and starting to get a bit grumpy as its now past "THIS OLD MANS BED TIME!", so i am just about to tell him we'll fix it later on and he ask's me why one of the eyes is sideways from the rest?

where is it located ? ,"by the handle he says", "i strung the line through it and down the rest of the eyes".
What shape is it?
square is his reply , this engineer with all the letters behind his name that engineers get had threaded the line through the hook keeper and down the rest of the eyes.
