WCCRTS

I just got back from the West Coast Custom Rod and Tackle Show and it was great. I was treated like royalty. Everyone was great and it was big boost for RFS.
The best in the business were there, people like Doc Ski, Randy Search, Pat Haeckel, Bill Havens, Bill Batson, Mark Griffin, John and Mary Gherardi(I bet I misspelled that),Mike Ahern, and many more. I had the booth next to Bill Havins(Salty Dawg) so we talked a lot, Sivia was on the other side of me and Doc has a crush on Silvia so He kept hanging around. Actually I think it is the fact that Silvia and Grady are such great people that everyone was hanging around. Their booth stayed very busy. Poor old Grady, Silvia kind of worked him down. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone.
We received quite a bit of support for our RFS program. I don't remeber exactly how many rods we took out there, about 7 or 8 but I brought back 19. WE didn't sell very many raffle tickets at the show but the pre-sell was great. Randy Search won the raffle rod and it was the second rod he won. The first was a rod built and donated by Raymond Adams. I thought that was a little ironic. I was also presented a certificate for a custom rod for me that will be built by Randy Search on a blank donated by Gary Loomis.
THe weekend couldn't have been any better and I owe many thanks to the people that made it possible for me to go to the show.
Pat

good on ya Pat, from what i understand us ol Texas boys are the first in the nation to do something like this .

you and the guys/girls who support it and who take our troops out fishing deserve a special note in history for it.

Pat it was great to meet you. You and Silvia and Grady definitely represented Texas in a fine way. I'm glad we could help out a little bit. Pat(Freespool) painted one of Mr.Batsons fine blanks for us(ISWB946) in red that we are gonna build for your program and gave it to us at the show. It was awesome to be able to have you come out. Too bad the boys from California don't drink though... I am gonna bring my recurve if I ever get out there and have you take me out to kill some hogs...

What boys don't drink? Pat and I got hammered with Mr. Helton Friday night and we had a few on Saturday after dinner. I wish you could have joined us Saturday, just nice sitting around and chatting. Pat, I thoroughly enjoyed your "how I met the Mrs. story." We were in stitches.
