gift certificates

the suggestion of gift certificates has been brough up but i have a problem with a part of that in that the vets could request rods to built  with specifications , i am willing to bet some of these vets have never fished or at least know what componets they would want.

or am i totally wrong again?

If they dont fish I dont know that they would be a cantidate. The gift certificates would be general,,, casting/spinning, offshore/inshore/bass,,, decals wanted:name? branch? battalion, etc,,,,,,colors.....
then we can match up to builders...
We will compile a list of builders that want to participate, then match them up with the types of rods they build!
What do you think?

I don't think that a soldier that is not interested in fishing would want a rod. When we go to San Antonio to present rods to the patients I am going to try to identify the ones that would use them. Of course if a soldier with no arms says"I want one." he gets it as far as I am concerned.

I want to wrap another but have no idea what to wrap. I like to do everything, except heavy salt, of which I know absolutly nothing about.

We are going to do a couple of things....one is to compile a list of suggested rods to help with problems like yours
The other is to have a list of builders thatwant to participate in the Gift Certificate program. When we get a certificate, we will match up those needs with the builder that matches the build.

Terry,
I can tell you that at least two that I will be building will be inshore popping blanks with split grips very similar to FW bass rods. One's a spinner, one's a caster.

Wait !, i think maybe i didnt express my self well enough.

what i meant was a or the vet "might" want a fishing rod but does not know enough about them to specify componets.

i mean heck i love fishing but to walk in and start ordering parts and blanks, no way i could do it.

now does that make any sense ?

Yep, but what we are looking for is, what he would use it for...it makes no sense to give a Tuna stick to a vet that lives in Amarillo. If someone fishes, they would know enough to say what kind of fishing they do, whether they uses a casting or a coffee grinder, cat fisher or bass or snapper or trout etc....maybe get some service logos or if he wants his name on it etc.....
