Went to FTU today to get some more Gudebrod Thread for a rod I'm building. The inventory is starting to fad in some colors. I have read on the some site that Gudebrod may be folding up. I am not sure if they are or aren't. But if it is true and the supply dwindles, what other thread manufacturers are you considering when your supply of Gudebrod is gone????
Silvia at Bullards International is now supplying thread. I haven't seen it in person but the pictures look terrific. Tou can log on to the Diamond II website to see samples. Pat
I like supporting the local shops if I can before ordering from internet shops. I'm lucky and spoiled (yeah I realize and admit it) as I live within 30 minutes of either FTU locations and can get on over there to play. I like to go and stack the spools together to see how things would likely turn out. Kinda hard to do on the internet as I find that the colors displayed don't always match what the actual color on the spool.
I went to the Bullard Diamon II site but the thread colors aren't posted yet. Says soon though. Looking forward to seeing it.
FTU is also bringing in our own thread and it is not FishHawk, Pac Bay, or Maderia. I have seen the samples and I am REALLY excited about them. It is called Superior and as far as I know, we will be the only ones with the line. They have 170 colors and the metallics are awesome...not wrapped with the outer layer...we are still in the intiating process but I cant wait. Silvias stuff is nice too and I believe she has some now.
With the new threads i'm going to be broke from buying all of the thread colors. I only have about 600 different colors. It's like fishing rods,you can never have to many
