cork grip question

has or would it work ?

i am in the process of cutting a thumb grip (indention) on the top of my handle and was wondering would it work ok to apply some epoxy to just that area  just to treat and protect that area from wearing away or being messed up?

The epoxy may or may not stick and I doubt you will like the result even it it does stick good.

Why are you worried about the cork wearing away or gettting messed up? It surely don't wear away on the rest of the grip.

I agree w/ Raymond... You're not epoxying the rest of the grip, so why epoxy there? Cut the indention and see how it works out before you try to put anything on it.

thanks for the replies guys, i have something going in front of it and i didnt want the cork to ware away as it would really distract from the over all effect, besides it would only be in the indented thumb area

and no i am not ready to show it - still got a long way to go yet, heck haven't even gotten the rod eyes yet.

oh well, back at it heheh.
