I'm purty sure I beat the most of the Texas contingent back, as most were driving. Very cool show! Terry Jones took some pics(I didn't), so I hope he'll post up after his drive/recovery. I really enjoyed the whole deal, and getting to meet up w/ the other TRB folks. If T. Kirkman has another one next year, let's plan for more from Texas to attend. Rodbuilders are a great bunch of folks...I met people from everywhere, and they all share our enthusiasm for the craft. Jerry
Sure happy for you Jerry that you got to attend the ICRB.....I think if the TRB's would get together as a group.....wether flying or driving.....if surely would save on expenses.... I have my sights on 2011....
Hey Jerry! Carol & I certainly enjoyed the show & visiting with all. We got back today @ noon. Quite a drive; what with the weather & traffic jams. We hope that more can make it next year if it goes. As some of my coon A friends would say: We passed a good time. Alan.
Hey MaryLou! Heard lots of people talking about your talent up at the ICRBE, from the snake skin dealer to others. You might want to try to make the trip to show some of your rods. Alan.
Alan, glad ya'll made it back safe and sound! Haven't heard from Terry and Danny, but they're probably sleeping it off. With the show in NC always in late Feb, the driving conditions can be crazy, especially w/ this "global warming". I enjoyed my flight back to DFW w/ Dr. Hanneman and Joe DeLeon and his wife, who rep for Diamond Two products. Plan to fly if you can, as it's a long way, right Alan? ~ 1500 miles from Houston?
just got in myself and guess what? My original return flights were changed in Greensboro and I ended up flying into DFW! First time in Texas! to bad I couldn't stay for a spell.

I did see quite a few Texas Rod Builders there, that was only the ones wearing there caps that I could id them. I was working the RodDancer booth displaying FishHawk threads and Threadmaster finishes and epoxies. It was great to see see and speak to you folks, hopefully more of the group can attend next year.

Thanks MaryLou ! Robbie has had only great words about you. Also your rodwork that Ive seen on fb is really awsome. I agree with one of the members , you should bring some rods next year! Perhaps we can display them in the RodDancer booth, providing there built with FishHawk threads and Threadmaster finish. After this show Im already thinking of displaying photos of rods in the booth, maybe digitally.
Hi Mike! You and I spoke quite a bit! (with Danny) Really glad to see you here!
This forum doesn't get the traffic of other boards, but is intended more as a clubhouse for us to meet and chat in a more casual atmosphere. It used to be for members only and just recently opened it to anyone, which has really worked out....the ones that come and stay are the ones that contribute and enjoy!

Thank You Mike for the compliments..!!.....See you next year at the ICRB !!
Maybe the TRB could charter a bus and ride up insted of flying. It could be one heck of a party, How about some thoughts on that. Paul
That a good idea Paul.....but I remember one year when there was a terrible snowstorm in NC..and the surrounding states...something that needs to be considered if anyone is driving...
Danny and i were very lucky....we had gorgeous weather all the way, but there was still some snow piles where they had 2 feet 10 days before...just a matter of timing. It was also over 1,100 miles from H town which accounted for 35 hours round trip! Wouldn't hurt to check into the prices...it would be fun!

Personally , I would like to drive...my biggest concern, would be a winter storm along the way....that is one reason I don't drive up to Lamiglas in April... If I am going to travel that far, I want to see every inch of the country....
