Was great! imho

Sorry for the delay in putting this up, I've been busy as usual...lol

Roger Stigen offered us a Coperate Beach house in Pirates Beach as a location for our outdoor event. I think it really went well. We had a good turn out with 30 people and the weather cooled down from 103 down to a 101, so we were greatful for that (jking)

Dixon Dryden smoked some briskets, plus we had potato salad, beans, coleslaw, shrimp dip, cakes, ect...

We had a few folks that went fishing that morning, but didn't have enough "trophies" to pursue awards.

We did however have a great turnout for the "Rod Contest"! We had 14 entries and let everyone attending vote on their favorites. Wife's and kids included. FTU kicked in 3 gift certificates for the winners....1rst was $50, second/$40, and third/$30. When it cam down to it, we had a tie for 1rst. Silivia Davis with Bullard chipped in with a $50 Bullard Bucks prize for the other first place winner! The winners were:

 

1rst - Doug Moore -  Harley Davidson Rod

1rst - Tony Laverdi - Spinning Snake Rod

2nd - Allen Pierce - Blue Tarpon Rod

3rd - Terry Jones - Purple/Pink Rod

We also had quite a few prizes from FTU and Bullard that we drew names for and most everyone there got something.

I really enjoyed this event myself and all the feedback I got back was positive. Everyone also agrees we need to do it when its cooler! haha I am thinking we need to shoot for April!

The get together was great. Good food and stimulating conversation. It was hot and I was accused of blocking the wind but everyone had a good time. We need to do it again and April would not be too soon for me.

thanks Pat for the report and pictures and yes i do believe everyone enjoyed the get together and yes a "cooler month" i think would better .
