Hey Guys! After reading some books and watching some videos i was wondering if all guides have to be sanded or grinded before putting them on the blank? I know doing this helps with the wrapping process but i was wondering if all guides needs to be done like that.

well from my new-be stand point - no-, i am building one now that the only eye that needed the feet honed down was the biggest one closest to the reel all the rest were fine.

but then the last rod i did i had to hone down all of them but it was some eye's i selected for that blank my self.

hehe, thanks i custom painted for 20 years but cant paint now so i just do pen and inks now , ah well when i am not fishing or makin a rod or two or a rod for the "Rods for Soldiers" program we have going.

yes the Grand Slam that was a commissioned piece for a ladies fishing club award.
