I just finished my first two fly rods. One is for my son and one for my dil. They live in Idaho and fly fish a lot. The handles came out great. I made them from some birdseye maple. My first time ever to turn wood on my lathe. It was pretty easy. My camera is not very good so I didn't get real good pictures. I put a tiny fly weave on them with a fish hook on the first ferrule and an arrowhead on the second ferrule. I tried to keep it small and simple because it seems that is what flyfishermen like. Here is a few pics Pat
Looks pretty good to me. How does the birdseye feel now that all the guides are on and everything. What kind of camera do you have? Out of couriosity!!
very nice Pat, they'll love em, I envy them to be able to fish Idaho, I have been there and it is beautiful country, Bitterroot Mtns. and Snake River are something else
