Help on a rod for the RFS program

Hello all, I know I don't post much at all or make many of the meetings but when I have a question I do know where to go. I will be starting a rod that I plan to donate for the Rods for Soldiers and need some ideas. The rod in question will be for the "Ladies" of our great forces. I usually do not indulge in the cross wraps, weaves or decals on the rods that I have made in the past. Just a few little touches with the thread wraps. This is a break down on the components:

Mudhole CRB IM6 6' med-fast "pink" blank
Fuji ARF seat
Custom cork handle w/ Whitetail horn rings
American Tackle guides
Gudebrode white & dusty rose
Batson handle trim rings

I could use some help on ideas for "personnality" for this rod. I had thought of a weave of an Armed Forces insigna but which one? How about all of them? Thats a lot of room needed for such a task. Maybe a custom decal over a thread wrap? I plan to put some "bling" on the reel seat with some rinestones and maybe some in the handle. I am going to attempt to get this complete before Paul goes to the V.A. hospital in December. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep on Fishing

John
I don't know what kind of help you think you need but it sounds like you have some pretty good ideas. Of course I am partial to simple elegance for my personal rods even though I dress up my rods for others.

I'm just finishing up a ladies RFS rod as we speak. Nothing too fancy, I did the rod in pink, light blue and white so there's no doubt it's a ladies patriotic rod. Capt. G donated a very cool pink reel seat for it and provided some awesome guides as well as some other little goodies I'll be using on some other RFS rods. Fun little project that Uncle Pat will be getting shortly.

Hey John,

If there is anything I can help out with please let me know. We have some really pretty new thread and I will happily donate what you need. Along with epoxy or anything else.
