I am jealous Jerry...beautiful flowers and exotic specimans. Do you know the names? I have some guesses if you dont? We have been working hard trying to get the cuttings we salvaged and the ones I ripped up rerooted. We had over 30 different species and now we have about 8. We lost all our big ones...a 9 foot Sally Morange (Laguna Moonrise) and a 8 ft, 10, ft and 12 ft Pink Slaughters. The count went down from 180 to 80, but most of those are cuttings and smaller plants (but thankful to have them!)
I will be adding one that shows what the gardens currently look like. One of the oddest things from this, that we cant find anyone in the business that has ever seen it is the Phoenix effect (my name). Some of the plants that totally died were left in the ground because I didn't have the heart to dig them and I had not given up on them yet. What happened first was with the 9 ft Sally Morange we had right in the front. A small off-shoot appeared at the base. We new some of the root systems we dug up were still green, but without the top part,we have NEVER seen any life come from a root ball. Neither has any body else becuase most people dig them up and replace with new.
The incredible thing about this phenom is most new plants have no root system, cuttings spend most of the year developing roots...this plant has a monster root system that supported a 9 foot tree. It is growing at a phenominal rate and is actually shooting out branches from its main trunk without splitting...something else no one has seen. Check out Laguana Neu! it is unbelievable and already has Plumeria professioonals buzzing we have contacted.. We also have 2 more Phoenix plants...one from a seedling that was a 7 foot bloomer (baby2 neu) and our 10 foot Slaughter Pink Lupita 4 just popped one out this weekend!!!!
PS..the flowers behind Lauguna New is a cutting from the original plant that had 4 limbs and all four bloomed! From a cutting! We are very proud parents!

Terry, I know nothing about the names of what I have, I just know they're purty and small good. Your input on naming them is welcome. You and Deb really have it going on w/ em! Some of what I have were given to me as cuttings from Hawaii, some I bought from a local grower, and some were cuttings from my Houston sister. I don't live in the best growing area, they're all in pots, and have to be brought into the garage during the winter. I have to keep cutting them back every year so they don't grow too big. Kyle, I didn't know you were a plumeria man...dats cool!
