Checkerboard Jig


The Checkerboard jig that Billy V has for sale is for cork and EVA. Its on the NERBS website and RBO

I've seen it.... I like the construction of that one. I purchased the cork jig from mudhole and I like it, but the NERBs jig looks like it can be use in more applications

It would be much easier to fork out $30.00 or so than $100.00+ for a cork jig. I hope FTU gets them too.

Billy demo'd it for me at the show. It is another good way to do checkers, and the price is reasonable. There are a couple of differences, besides cost...this one cuts up to 8 sections, other one does up to 12. The other one also comes w/ a slicing jig. For cork, Billy recommends using a razor blade held in vise grips to do the slicing while turning on a mandrel OR using a bandsaw to do the slices. I'm not disparaging the product, just be aware that they are 2 very different techniques. My jigs are the older blue anodized aluminum and I use a 42T razor saw for the cuts, not the jewelers saw that Mudhole sells.
