Something for the club

Two things you might be interested in:

One is we have a booth again at the fishing show in March. I will open my booth to the club to put in a small table, or use a corner of one of my tables, with some information about the club with a small sign. I think there are alot of small rod builders out there that may be interested in the club, just not been exposed to it as yet.

Secondly, I posted it on 2Cool but I know alot of you I don't see on there too much. I am the factory rep for Seeker Rods in Texas and Louisiana. I've used their blanks for probably 15-18 years with good success. I can offer you their blanks as a pretty decent discount if you have a tax ID. I've already had a few calls from a couple of you and am working with FTU on getting them into their stores. If interested, you can call me at 832-971-3050 or e-mail me at savagerods@sbcglobal.net. They have a great lineup from bay rod blanks to Super Seekers. It just gives you another option in addition to the great blanks already out there.

Great Don
I will stop by and give your blanks a good hard look. I have never tried Seeker blanks but have heard they are really great quality. We are supposed to have a booth but I don't know if that has been taken care of or not, if not it may be too late.
I don't know if you use color preserver or not but if you do I will bring you a big sample of Cason's Crystal Clear. We have added a UV protective to our solvent CP. It hasn't been fully tested yet but it hasn't ben out very long. So far it is working great.

I must confess that i have never used a Seeker blank, but George Roth and others swear that the BS706 is the absolute best Zara Spook or trap blank you can buy with the perfect action for them. I have seen alot of guys on the BFHP build on them. True, they may be a little thicker but they are E-glass and composites and have the perfect action for moving baits with treble hooks. I almost bought a couple blanks from Mudhole a few weeks ago but bought some Loomis before they are gone from FTU and pLus I am still leery of buying rods/blanks through UPS/Fedex and greatly prefer buying them in person at FTU. In addition to being fine quality Seekers are made in the USA and are quite affordable. (I am in no way affiliated with Seeker....my testimony is based on many posts by many builders at the BFHP and TT and Roth's webpage; my first custom rod was from George). As soon as they reach FTU I will definitely buy some.
