TRB 2010 Calender

I want to make a 2010 calender featuring the work and accomplisments of TRB members.
It will be in PDF format so all can see/print it and it can be posted on our forums.

I'll need pix and info/ideas from as many members that are interested in participating.

Lets see who actually sees this post too. This forum hasn't had much activity!

Hello Raymond! We had a good show & meeting yesterday. Terry told us that we should try to get the site going again, so here's to show that you're not totally alone on here. Thanks for what all you're trying to do. Alan Heuston. (carver1739 on 2cool)

Sounds like a great idea, Raymond. It would be nice to have a pic of each member to go w/ their name, in addition to build pics. I for one, don't know how to do the collage pics like some do. What size pics are you wanting? Maybe give an idea of what you're envisioning, and we'll get some imput. Jerry

Jerry,

Full size pix are easier to work with. I can always crop or resize if needed and if you take several pix of a rod I can create the collage.

I like your idea of putting faces to names and maybe I can put a section of head shots with names that like a footer or header would stay visible month after month or just simply copy it to each calendar page. I dunno.

I kind of envision the calendar like an advertisement for the TRB. We could print some and provide them free for the grabbing at our shops and places like FTU, maybe give them with some rods. I would like to showcase our rod work and what we do to help the community like our Rods for Soldiers program and what we do to help promote the rod building craft. If any of our members do any out-reach, donation, or other things to help their community we want to mention that.

I'd like to mention the "Friends of TRB" and give back to them too and if members who have small businesses selling custom rods and things like this help with sales so much the better. After all, most folks who join clubs do so to reap some sort of benefits besides just the camaraderie & friendships.

Pix speak a thousand words so bring'em on folks! Obviously I won't be able to all of them (I hope I get a LOT) for the calendar but I think the calendar is only the beginning.

I don't have any idea as to the plans of our founders to grow our membership or if we should keep things small (at least for the time being) but I doesn't hurt to "toot our own horn" so to speak as long as we don't come off like an infomercial. I we don't do it, who will?

Ray
You have some great ideas but it may be more than you can put on one calender. Maybe we should publish a pamphlet explaing how we got started and what our short term and long term goals are. Anyway whatever you decide to do just let me know what you need from me. I will help any way I can.
Pat
