Thursday after Ike.

Ike has gone, sun is out, and temperature is cool. I have almost finished cleaning up the yard. I still have to clean out two refrigerators and a big freezer. Why can't meat be refrozen as long as it stayed cold, most of it didn't thaw all the way? I am in the process of making about 20 lbs. of elk chili that I will put in freezer bags and freeze. I have about 75 lbs. of elk steaks that stayed cold but did thaw. I will eat as much as I can in the next couple of days. I have two whole pigs that didn't hardly thaw at all, I am going to refreeze them.
I am so thankful that I didn't have any major damage. I am praying for all of you that you made out as well as I did. My TRB family is important to me.

ELK chilie! YUM!
Some of the best chilie I ever ate was some canned elk chilie my dad sent home with me
from a visit in Idaho!
