PicToWeave Weaving Competition

Loaded Dog Enterprises in conjunction with Lamar Fishing Products, Fish Hawk
Thread & other sponsors is proud to announce the inaugural "PicToWeave
Weaving Competition".

The aim of the competition is to encourage rod builders to try their hand at
weaving.

Contestants must register their entries on the PicToWeave web forum.
To ensure that the emphasis is placed on individual performance, contestants
must complete one of several pre-made patterns and post their finished weave
on the PicToWeave web forum for judging by a panel of judges including
representatives of the sponsors and other rod building identities.
There will be two (2) categories.

* Novice - (Defined as someone that has not weaved before, or has not
posted themselves, or had photos of their weaves posted on rod building, or
other fishing related web sites)
* General Entrant - (Defined as someone who does not fit into the
category of Novice)

How does it work?
Simply download one or more of the pre-selected weave designs from this web
site and get weaving!
The choice of thread type, size and color is up to you!
When you're done, post your entries on the PicToWeave website forum for judging.

Judging will be on three criteria and weighted as follows.

1: Tightness & straightness of thread (Maximum 15 points)
2: Color choice & co-ordination (Maximum 5 points)
3: Overall finish including Epoxy, trim bands etc (Maximum 5 points)
4: Degree of difficulty of weave chosen. (Maximum 5 points)

shall receive the following prizes:

Awesome Owen! Thanks for the heads up...I may end up having to do a weave yet...lol.
I cant make my own? It needs to be one of the pre-selected ones?

Terry,
To keep a somewhat even playing field we felt it had to be pre-selected patterns.
That way we can concentrate on execution rather than complexity of design etc.

BTW,

I have a version of the skull with the letters TRB down the forehead if you want it for the vault.
Can't be used in the comp though.

Thats sounds cool...absolutely put it in the vault!
I was wanting to do a 360 degree dragon wrap with 24 colors on an ultra lite spinning rod....but I guess I'll do one of the pre-selected instead....

Terry, you're in luck!!!
If you do the pre-selected dragon weave onto a knitting needle and use 24 colors, I'll give you extra points for effort ;)

Terry, are you talking about a simple 360 degree multi-color weave(yawn), or a nasty 360 degree 24 color-change? I'm looking forward to some progress pics! LOL
