I am in the process of building myself a new spinning rod out of scrap pieces...I dug the buttcap out of the trashcan...and the foregrip, you can see, I have pieced it together...and the rodblank, is a blemished St.Croix I picked up in Park Falls... BUT..... I did buy myself a new spinning reel for it..!...

Placement of Hookkeepers....

`I don't use hookkeepers on my personal rods..but my client wants one on his spinning rod... So, the question is..where do I mount it ???...Do I mount it on the same side as the guides ???....Or on the top side ???...Are they generally mounted near the foregrip ???... welp learned a few things this week -not to do

1.dont use 5 min epoxy on rod eyes 2.wash the rod after sanding 3.dont rap the eyes then use dirty fingers to wipe the dust off. its 8'8" and its an old Gladdings South Bend "White Knight" but it didnt turn out real bad.- coments ? -- Edited by Terry Goode on Friday 28th of May 2010 12:30:46...
