MaryLou asked me to conduct a test by freezing applied epoxy on a rod. I wrapped a piece of rod blank, finished it with DIAMOND II (2 coats, no CP) and then cut the rod down to about 12 inches long. The rod went into the freezer, and out, and in, and out---so on and so on. I have been doing this for several weeks...

Of course I'm biased so take this with a grain of salt but I'm doing some personal tests on the New water based "Cason's Crystal Clear" CP from Cason Custom Rod Finishes. 1st pic is after 2 coats and 2nd pic after 4 coats. As you can see there is absolutely NO hazing or visable acrylic crystals...

welp learned a few things this week -not to do

1.dont use 5 min epoxy on rod eyes 2.wash the rod after sanding 3.dont rap the eyes then use dirty fingers to wipe the dust off. its 8'8" and its an old Gladdings South Bend "White Knight" but it didnt turn out real bad.- coments ? -- Edited by Terry Goode on Friday 28th of May 2010 12:30:46...
