Can anyone please tell me the exact date when the first rod was awarded, and how many rods have been awarded since?  Talking with Pat he mentioned 23 or 33 rods were built the first year and over 200+ the second year and the club is currently in its third year of builds.  The bottom line for me is the date of the first awarded rod and how many rods have been awarded / given to our men and women of the Armed Forces up to this point and time.

Our first rod was presented in August of 2008. It was presented to the Father of Army specialist Brad Thomas. I think there are pictures of the rod in the Gallery. Also in the RFS section you can go down to where it says "newspaper article" and there is a story that appeared in the Topeka, Kansas newspaper.

The first year we donated 38 rods, our second year about 60 or 65. This year we will be close to 170 I think. That is assuming the request keep coming at a steady rate.

FYI. I got a call from John Blair and he has another pick-up load of components and blanks for us. I will go get them tomorrow. What a guy.
