RFS Idea #1

Come up with the wording for a flyer to inform the public about the RFS program.

Post the flyer in every fishing forum that can be found on the internet.

There are a lot of them by the way hundreds if not thousands.

Potential exposure is in the millions.

Think of it as an advertising/media blitz, thats free.

I have included a draft flyer to get this project started.  Feel free to put your 2 cents in and or critiques, you wont hurt my feelings youll only help a soldier.  I do not have all the answers, just a desire to help.

I am willing to undertake this task once the flyer has been approved and will provide historical data of which sites the flyer has been posted on.

Texas Rod Builders

Proudly Present

Rods for Soldiers

picture of a rod goes here

We would like you to know about our program, a nonprofit organization which presents custom fishing rods to our men and women of the United States Armed Services.

These quotes from the members of Texas Rod Builders say it best.

We are limiting it to wounded soldiers and decorated soldiers because we just cant build a rod for everybody.  Its kind of limited, but these people have done extra for us whether theyve been wounded or theyve performed some heroic feat, theyve done something extra for us so we can live the life we live so a fishing rods the least we can do and something I enjoy doing.

What little effort we put into building those rods, that in no way can be compared to what these guys did.

If we can do even the slightest little thing, we will, just to say, Hey man thanks we really appreciate it.

If you would like to get involved or get more information

please visit us @ Texas Rod Builders

It looks good to me. We should get permission from the website administrators before we post something like this on their websites. We do have a donate button on the RFS page, should we mention that? Is there some way to add a donate button to this post?

We need some feedback from club members.

Yes she is, however Warren has time to devote to this project. He called me and we discussed some things we can do to get more exposure. His idea was to hit all of the fishing websites with this flyer. I thnk it is  a good idea. I would like to get more input from club members before we start doing this. If anyone thinks we should or shouldn't do it, if the wording should be changed, if there are more ideas about what websites should be used, or whatever.

We have a really nice website and I check it several times a day but it seems that there are just a few of us that do. I would really like to see more activity on our website and this would maybe result in a little more traffic. I know you have worked hard on this website and you have done a wonderful job. We just need more traffic.

Anyway post up some ideas.

Pat

How do we put one of those little Facebook symbols on our website and this flyer to let people link up with our Facebook page?

Pat you talking about something like this ?
http://www.texasrodbuilders.com/

also there is no way to add a donate button to above flyer as it needs the paypal code to be incorperated with it.

you can redirect to our web site (not this message board) or even to Silvia's RFS link page
