blacktip challenge rods

i built these rods for the prizes at the blacktip challenge..

i had 5 days to build them and also had to fish the tourny..
i would have liked to do something a little nicer but with the short amount of time thats what i could do..there not perfect but they should catch some fish!!

blackfin donated the blanks and all american donated the guides.. they are 7 ft 60-100lb..

this is a land based shark tourny that we do in florida and it was a weekend long this year and there were some nice fish caught..

heres some pics of the rods and my tourny entry fish..

Great looking rods. I wonder what they would look like if you had more time.
Thanks for posting.

that shark was 110 over all lenth and a 65inch girth and was 95 inchs fork lenth..

if you do the esitmated calculations thats makes it 501 lbs.. i think it was a little heavier then that..

but i won the tourny with it and its great... also returned that fish back to fight another day..

Beautiful rods in only 5 days. Your shark looks like it just ate a car. What a pig!
