Today I received a beautiful pair of matching stand-up rods from Randy Search (Zombie). These rods are built on Pac Bay 50 lb class blanks with chrome turbo guides with blue inserts, blue reelseat, blue grips and gimbel, Beautiful marbeling at the butt and under the guide wraps, and custom decals. These rods are special and Randy put a lot of work into them. Let's all send him a great big "Thanks, Partner". Can we make him an honorary Texan? Pat
Pat, I'm glad the "cookies" made it there in one piece. I already took a bunch of pics but didn't want to put them up until you received them. Hope ya like them, better yet, hope a couple of the troops like them.
I also need to point out that a friend of mine, Pat Haeckel, custom painted those blanks for free. He painted them in Pearl White with extra blue pearl in the clear coats. It's very subtle but there and visible in the right light. He provided all the materials and labor since he knew they were going to the troops. Randy.

well done Randy, not only will i accept you as a brother but also as a fellow Texas.
now your first test is to learn how to say "yuall", now slowly say uhall, once ya get it say it fast - good job well done now whats the length on dem dar rods?
while I was volunteering at the rodeo yesterday we were privileged to play host to 1500 soldiers from Fort Hood that had come in by buses to to enjoy the carnival and rodeo.
whose knows, after their tour of duties we may be presenting a rods to some of them, I hope not, but...
I also saw these rods today at our Rod Building class...Pat brought them up...THEY ARE INCREDIBLE! I have alway admired your work from afar, but to see them in person was totally an honor. Stunning work and even a bigger jesture by donating them. We need to see how we want to put them to use. What a fun idea that is!!!!!
