The wood is Bloodwood and Maple with FC color preserver, 2 very light coats, so the wood would not darken. And then epoxy.

I saw the checkering stuff on the net and I saw how muck that stuff costs and thought thats rediculous. I made mine up in 12-16" lengths, glued it all together and used tie wraps for clamps and then cut what I wanted when I need it.
