I don't normally post my customers rods, but I really liked the way this one came out! It was for a bigger guy, so I modified the reel seat (you can see the hump on the back of the ACSM reel seat making the entry for the grip more oval in shape. I had to hand shape the cork rings there for a good fit. I also cut a groove where the reel seat and the grip meet and laced Trimar thread there. The seat is painted with House of Kolor pearls over a black base. The Crosswrap has a Blue Metallic Electric base. The blank is a FTU IM10 Chrome cut to 6'9" and is spiral wrapped with the new FUJI KTWAG 8 Titanium stripper and the size 4 micros to match. The tangle free design is cool and looks awesome on the rod. The guide wraps are with blue nylon and the Blue Electra inlays....looks cool...
Really nice job, Terry. I haven't tried the KTAG's yet...can you still do locking wraps on the single foot 4's? Aren't wind knots more of a concern w/ micros on top, especially when using braid? I don't use braid, that's why I'm asking. They are good looking guides!
