Anyone suspicous of the report on the specs in G Bay have toxins??? Isn't it funny with all the hoop-la about letting trout go, now they are telling you to only eat 8 oz's a month? If they have toxins, why would they let you eat them at all? Reds and flounder are OK?
They are saying the reason for the rise in the specs is the toxins have settled into the mud and the dreadging has stirred them back up??? Wouldn't it affect the bottom grubers like reds and flat fish??
I think it's a new way of controlling fish harvesting?

With my fishing luck lately and my limited chances to go, I better get busy if I want to get my 8oz..............It does sound a little fishy(tee hee hee) but dredging around the Galv.bay complex has been going on continuously since,,,, forever. Why all of a sudden are only these 2 species of fish bad for you. What kind of catfish are they talking about. Hardheads? Oh darn, there goes my Sunday dinner plans.....It seems like it would affect every fish in the bay. Let's see....Hmmmm, shrimp are bottom dwellers right down there in the stuff and everything eats them. Nobody is saying don't eat shrimp. I believe there's more to this story.

Yeah, there is nothing like inviting everyone over for a big Hardhead BarBQ!

Yep, I think its funny that species are the only game species they are citing and to me, they would be the least likely to get it...unless they had a heavy mullet diet....but reds and flounders and like you said ...shrimp are OK?????

I have never put to much stock in what some government agency has to say. Look at the snapper regulations. I don't think the smartest people in the world work for the government.

if they are good, they go into the private market where they can make more money...In the government, the less talented people have a power over us publians which makes them feel good to exert....
