Hi there! I'm brand new to building rods and I wanted to ask you guys; how do I get started? What are some good resources that I can go to? Are there any good DVD's out there that you all would recommend? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

If you live in the Houston area our club has classes periodically at Fishing Tackle Un limited on South 45 and Fuqua. We have a basic rodbuilding class about 3 times a year. This Saturday there will be a class on marbling but there will be another basic class soon. Also there are all kinds of books and videos that you can get. I have a pretty good library of those books and videos if we can get together so that you can borrow them. I live south of Houston about 50 miles in West Columbia.
Hey Pat! I know exactly where you are located, i used to live in Alvin. I live in Austin now, but I frequently drive to Houston to visit family. Do know of any clubs around my area? I would definitely like to borrow some books or videos if we could meet sometime? In the mean time could you recommend some DVD's or books, that would help out someone new to the hobby?
