Big S. Texas bass!!

I caught my personal best bass today on a custom rod built on a Phenix 706H blank! This fish was caught on Choke Canyon, and was 10lbs 2 oz, 26.5"!! It was nice having a 7'6" rod during the fight, because I had to sweep under the trolling motor and the outboard to keep her under control... The last pic is just for perspective alongside a keeper 14.5" fish. Gotta love TX bass fishing!

What a large head on that sow.
What pound line did you use?

Thanks guys! Yeah, if she had a belly to match her head, she may have gone over 13lbs... I was using 20lb Trilene 100% Flourocarbon, and an 8" GrandeBass Megatail Rattlesnake (black/red flake)

Kyle, that is really nice LMB, congrats

I fished Choke Canyon a few times, never caught anything like that, but I did lose a nice rod and Garcia reel in one of the coves

anyway, nice catch

WHAT A PIG! Don't you just love fall fishing? Especially when deer season opens. I even love it in late December,January, and Feb. Congrats on the fish Kyle.
