Had a rough weekend....

Well,

This was a good but bad weekend all in one... My daughters first birthday party was this weekend (Saturday). We invited all of our friends and I invited one of my good friends (the woman that taught me everything I know in my career as a Hearing Instrument Specialist). Without this woman's influence in my life I don't know where my family would be today. So here it goes.......

So, we start my daughters party and I was busy getting everything ready and our guest started to show. Bonnie Martin (my good friend) showed up and spoke with my mother in the driveway for a few minutes and came inside the house. I saw that Bonnie had came and I stopped what I was doing so that I could welcome her into our home. Bonnie walked up to me and said a couple of words to me and she looked like she was leaning into give me a hug. So I leaned in as well.... Than I saw her eyes roll back in her head and realized she was going to pass out. I caught her and eased her to the floor. I told my father to call 911. After what felt like an hour the ambulance arrived and the EMS supervisor started to check her vitals.

By this time she was already speaking and looked to be fine. The supervisor stated that everything looked to be fine but advised her to go with them to have more test done at the hospital. She refused and stated that she was feeling better and that there was no need to have any add expenses to her current medical bills. I told her not to worry about that I would be more than happy to pay for anything she need help with.... but she still refused (I don't think she wanted to burden my family with the expense of her medical bills). The supervisor advised her not to be driving and to have someone drive her home for the party.

So, I call one of her friends to pick her up and take her home (Bonnie treated me and the lady I called like a son and daughter). After about an hour Lisa showed up and my father and I help Bonnie to the car. Half way there she said that she was starting to feel dizzy again. I told Lisa she need to go to the hospital to get checked out. Lisa agreed and we convinced Bonnie to let lisa take Bonnie to St. John's hospital in Clear Lake.

After the party I realized that I had a missed call from Lisa and called her back... She told me that when they got to the ER. Bonnie got to the room and passed away. tears.giftears.giftears.giftears.gif

I'm sorry I'm venting this to ya'll but I'm having a hard time with this right now and I can't talk about it without breaking down... So, I thought I'd write to help me vent a little.

Thanks for the open ears.......

I am going to pray for you Buddy. I know it is a small comfort but it seems the Lady went with little pain and suffering. Most of us don't get that gift. May she rest in piece in the arms of God.

Trey, sorry man for you loss of a good and close friend.

but as i get older i have figured out one thing in my life and i know that i can count on it coming true - death, it just happens whether we want it or not.

i have been pronounced dead once before and believe or not its not really all that bad but i had things i need to do so came back.

i am quite sure your friend "Bonnie" got to see an old friend's when she came to see you, the wife and baby and then felt no pain when she passed on.

peace brother.

Trey, that must be heavy load for you and your family.
